Gov. to unveil breast cancer awareness license plate:

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Local officials are set to hold a formal announcement Wednesday to release a new license plate aimed to raise breast cancer awareness.
Gov. Lincoln Chafee will join members of the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation at the state house to unveil the Gloria Gemma Rhode Island license plate.
The release marks the beginning of National Breast Cancer Awareness month and will support the RI Department of Health's Women's Cancer Screening Program.
Sen. Teresa Paiva Weed and Rep. Thomas Winfield, co-sponsors of the new plate, are expected to be in attendance.
The event is open to the public, and begins at 4:45 p.m. in the Governor's Reception Room, located on the second floor of the state house.
